About the Role

The Plant Manager is responsible for overall manufacturing operations at Quantum AEP.

This role leads production performance, operational efficiency, quality systems, staffing, process discipline, and execution across extrusion, annealing, inspection, material handling, and related manufacturing activities.

This position requires strong leadership, technical understanding of manufacturing operations, and the ability to build a disciplined, accountable, and high-performing production environment.

The Plant Manager will also support implementation of Industry 4.0 systems, operational data visibility, and AI-driven manufacturing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production
  • Oversee extrusion, annealing, inspection, material handling, maintenance, and shipping activities
  • Ensure production schedules, quality standards, and delivery commitments are consistently achieved
  • Develop and maintain disciplined manufacturing processes and operational accountability
  • Monitor plant performance metrics including throughput, scrap, downtime, labor efficiency, and on-time delivery
  • Support process optimization, equipment utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with engineering, quality, maintenance, and planning teams to resolve operational challenges
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for production or quality issues
  • Support implementation of Industry 4.0 systems, process monitoring tools, and AI-driven operational improvements
  • Manage staffing, training, employee development, and shop-floor leadership
  • Maintain high standards for safety, housekeeping, discipline, and operational organization
  • Support capital equipment planning, facility improvements, and manufacturing expansion initiatives

What we're looking for

Core competencies required for this position

Must have

  • Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field
  • Strong leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations
  • Experience managing production teams and shop-floor operations
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead in a structured, process-driven manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production planning, process control, and operational execution
  • High level of accountability, discipline, and attention to detail

Nice to have

  • Experience in plastics extrusion, polymer processing, or high-performance materials manufacturing
  • Familiarity with engineering plastics such as PEEK, PPS, PEI, PVDF, or acetal
  • Experience implementing Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement systems
  • Knowledge of Industry 4.0 manufacturing systems, operational data monitoring, or AI-driven manufacturing technologies
  • Experience with quality systems, SPC, root-cause analysis, and process optimization
  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling
  • Experience scaling manufacturing operations or supporting facility growth initiatives
