About the role

The Production Engineer plays a key role in maintaining stable manufacturing processes at Quantum AEP. This role focuses on ensuring daily production runs smoothly, supporting operators, reviewing process deviations, and helping improve reliability and efficiency across extrusion, annealing, and inspection workflows.

Key responsibilities

  • Monitor daily production and ensure processes follow standard operating procedures
  • Identify issues in extrusion, annealing, or material handling and support the team in resolving them
  • Work closely with operators to maintain consistency in process parameters
  • Assist with root-cause analysis for production deviations and quality concerns
  • Document process observations and update logs or checklists as required
  • Coordinate with maintenance and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted operations
  • Support implementation of process improvements and equipment upgrades
  • Ensure safety, housekeeping, and discipline are maintained on the shop floor

What we're looking for

Core competencies required for this position

Must have

  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes or industrial shop-floor operations
  • Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
  • Discipline, responsibility, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a structured environment with clear process expectations

Nice to have

  • Experience in plastics, extrusion, machining, or process industries
  • Knowledge of basic quality tools (5 Why, Pareto, fishbone analysis)
  • Familiarity with machine parameters and process troubleshooting
  • Comfort with working in shifts (if required for the role)
